Universal Control Platform for Electronically Controlled Diesel Pumps
One programmable control unit, multiple pump technologies, application-specific Operational Kits.
ERT45R extends the capability of a suitable diesel pump test bench for testing electronically controlled pumps, from conventional electronic systems to Common Rail.
One control unit for different electronically controlled pump families
ERT45R is the programmable core of a modular testing platform developed for electronically controlled diesel injection pumps.
The control unit is programmed according to the pump family through dedicated application data and Operational Kits, allowing the same base platform to be used across different electronic pump technologies.
Instead of relying on a different dedicated controller for every pump family, the workshop starts from one common control infrastructure and expands capability as required.
Designed for different diesel pump testing environments
Diesel Injection Service Centers
ERT45R provides the electronic control capability required to operate, check and calibrate supported electronically controlled pumps on a suitable test bench.
Engine Remanufacturing, Production & Quality Control
The platform can also be used where electronically controlled pumps need to be operated independently of the original vehicle or engine ECU.
Three control architectures, one modular platform
ERT45R applications are organized according to the electronic control strategy required by the pump.
Analog Electronic Control
Resistive and inductive governor systems.
Bosch VE-EDC, VE-HDK, P-EDC, Delphi DPC-N, Zexel Covec and VRZ applications.
Digitally Synchronized Control
Electronic actuation linked to pump angular position.
Bosch VP29/30, VP44, VR30, Delphi DP210/310 and Denso ECD families.
Common Rail Pump Control
Closed-loop high-pressure control for automotive, industrial and heavy-duty pump applications.
Bosch, Delphi, Denso, Continental/VDO, Cummins, CAT/Perkins and other supported families.
The control strategy follows the pump technology
Different pump families require different electrical signals, sensor inputs and synchronization logic.
ERT45R loads the appropriate control procedure for the selected application and guides the operator through the required operating stages.
In Common Rail applications, the platform can manage closed-loop pressure control through the pressure control valve using pressure-sensor feedback, together with the required application logic.
The exact hydraulic and measurement equipment required depends on the pump family and the existing test bench.
Actuator control
Electrical control adapted to the pump application.
Sensor feedback
Signal handling according to the required control strategy.
Synchronization
Angular coordination for digitally synchronized pumps.
Application programming
Dedicated application data loaded for the selected pump family.
Start with the applications you need. Expand when your workload changes.
The permanent control infrastructure remains in place while new pump families are added through dedicated Operational Kits and, where required, technology-specific equipment.
One common control platform
Reduce the need for multiple unrelated dedicated electronic controllers.
Progressive investment
Prioritize the pump families that matter most to the workshop and add capability over time.
Reuse suitable test-bench infrastructure
Extend an existing professional bench instead of automatically replacing the complete hydraulic system.
A three-layer system architecture
The ERT45R concept separates what is permanent from what changes according to technology and pump family.
Control Unit
Programmable core of the system.
Technology Equipment
Shared ancillary equipment where required.
Operational Kit
Pump-family-specific application layer.
Already have a diesel pump test bench?
The ERT45R system was developed to add electronic control capability to a suitable existing diesel pump test bench.
If your main question is how electronically controlled pumps can be tested on an existing ISO 4008-style bench, start from the solution page.
There is no one-size-fits-all ERT45R configuration
The right setup depends on your existing test bench, the pump families you want to cover first, and the capabilities you may want to add over time.
InjectionPower reviews the application before preparing the configuration proposal.
Start with:
- Your priority pump families
- Test bench manufacturer and model
- Existing equipment and geometry
ERT45R grows with the applications your workshop chooses to support
One permanent control platform, application-specific expansion, technical configuration based on your real workshop requirements.
