ERT45R — The System Concept
One programmable Control Unit, technology-related equipment where required, and pump-family-specific Operational Kits.
The ERT45R architecture separates the permanent part of the system from the elements that change according to pump technology and application.
A modular system structured in three layers
The architecture is designed around one common control platform that can be adapted progressively to different diesel pump technologies.
Universal Control Unit
The ERT45R Control Unit is the programmable core shared across the system.
Technology Equipment
Ancillary equipment is added when required by the electronic architecture of the pump.
Operational Kit
The outer application layer adapts the system to the specific pump family through programming, connections and application data.
Pump technologies are grouped into three control architectures
The control strategy determines which technology-related equipment is required between the Control Unit and the specific Operational Kit.
Analog Electronic Control
Digitally Synchronized Control
Common Rail
The matrix illustrates how supported pump families are organized according to the electronic control architecture required by the application.
The center of the system
The ERT45R Control Unit is the permanent, programmable core of the modular platform.
ERT45R concentrates different control functions in a single programmable unit.
Depending on the selected application, the unit can generate actuator-control signals, read relevant transducer inputs and manage the operating logic required by the pump family.
The application program is loaded through a dedicated smartcard supplied with the corresponding Operational Kit.
Once the correct application has been loaded, the operator connects the Control Unit to the pump using the required base and adapter cables.
The display guides the technician through application-specific operating stages using dedicated information and control pages.
Technology-related equipment
Some pump technologies require additional equipment shared across the applications belonging to the same control architecture.
Analog Electronic Control
For supported analog-controlled applications, no additional technology equipment is normally required between the ERT45R Control Unit and the specific Operational Kit.
Digitally Synchronized Control
These pumps require electronic control to be synchronized with the angular position of the pump camshaft.
A dedicated synchronization system is therefore added independently of the test bench used.
Common Rail Pump Testing
Common Rail applications require suitable high-pressure hydraulic infrastructure, pressure control and continuous flow measurement in addition to the electronic control capability.
The exact configuration depends on the pump family and the capabilities already available on the test bench.
Specific Operational Kit
Every ERT45R configuration includes at least one application-specific Operational Kit.
What an Operational Kit provides
The kit adapts the common ERT45R platform to the selected pump family.
-
Programming smartcard
Loads the application-specific control procedure into the ERT45R Control Unit. -
Base connection cable
Provides the primary electrical interface. -
Adapter cable or cable set
Interfaces the ERT45R system with the electrical connectors used on the pump. -
Application instructions
Step-by-step information for the specific pump family and ERT45R functions. -
Test information
Application-related reference data supplied with the kit where applicable.
Why the three-layer architecture matters
Permanent infrastructure is separated from application-specific capability.
Start with priority applications
The workshop does not need to activate every pump family at the same time.
Reuse common infrastructure
The same Control Unit and shared equipment can serve multiple applications.
Expand over time
Additional pump families can be introduced by adding the required Operational Kits and technology equipment.
There is no one-size-fits-all ERT45R configuration
The right setup depends on your existing test bench, the pump families you want to cover first, and the capabilities you may want to add over time.
