Continuous fuel-flow measurement for Common Rail pump testing
FL400/A adds continuous flow measurement to a diesel test bench and forms part of the measurement layer used with ERT45R for Common Rail pump testing.
Unlike conventional in-line pump testing, Common Rail pump evaluation requires the operator to understand the total fuel flow while the system is running. FL400/A provides that measurement continuously and sends the active flow reading directly to the ERT45R display.
The unit is designed as a test-bench add-on and can be mounted directly on the bench bed.
Two flow paths, one measuring instrument
FL400/A allows the operator to measure two different low-pressure flow lines alternatively during the test.
Flow feeding the rail
Measure the fuel flow delivered by the high-pressure pump toward the rail circuit.
Pressure-control return flow
Measure the fuel diverted through the pressure-control circuit and returned toward the test-bench tank.
A mechanical selector handle lets the operator switch quickly between the two measurement lines without changing the measuring instrument.
Read the active flow directly on ERT45R
The flow value from the selected line is displayed by the ERT45R control unit while the pump is operating. The operator can therefore follow pressure control and fuel-flow behaviour together during the test.
There is no separate manual reading operation: select the line on FL400/A and monitor its value on the ERT45R display.
From automotive Common Rail pumps to higher-flow applications
FL400/A supersedes the earlier FL200 and FL400 versions with increased flow-measurement capability. It is suitable for lower-flow applications such as Bosch CP1 and CP4 as well as higher-flow heavy-duty and industrial applications.
Documented applications include Caterpillar C6.6 and Denso HP systems. The current InjectionPower ERT45R architecture also uses FL400/A as common measurement equipment across supported Common Rail pump families.

FL400/A measures flow; ERT45R controls the pump and pressure-control strategy. A suitable high-pressure hydraulic circuit, accumulator and pressure-control equipment complete the Common Rail test configuration.
